About the Klamath Falls Program
Our main campus in Klamath Falls offers a traditional course of study leading to an associate's or bachelor's degree. Our traditional program teaches students to design, develop, integrate and implement computer software. Our program combines computing theory, engineering principles and field experience to prepare grads to be software engineers, systems engineers, systems analysts, programmer/analysts, researchers, consultants and a host of other positions. This unique mix of theory and practice makes our grads highly sought by major industry players like Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Intel and Sandia National Laboratories.
About the Portland Program
Our Portland program provides individually tailored degree-completion opportunities for working adults at two convenient locations. Prior college coursework and relevant work experience can be applied toward the degree. Portland students begin immediately to take SET courses and work in laboratory environments where they are exposed to the most current technology adoptions, using state-of-the-art tools such as code development and test work benches, interactive debuggers and tracers, crosscompilers and emulators, as well as other Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
A particular focus is the practical aspect of appropriate algorithm development and its effective implementation. Team-based projects teach students to work within that framework and develops clear communication skills in both oral and written form. In Portland, committed, industry-experienced professors work with students in a wide variety of operating environments and software development tools, ensuring that OIT graduates develop the skills and practical abilities that make them sought-after recruits by many of the areas most desirable employers.
